Since 1976, the TBS Team has provided THE best collision repair in the North Texas region. When owner, John Rattan, started the company, he chose the name “The Body Shop” because his mission is to be THE body shop of choice for customers, insurance companies, and employees. The Start To TBS

40 YEAR JOURNEY

Our family proudly serving YOU since 1976

1976 In a leased tin-roof building located at LBJ and Central Expressway in Dallas, The Body Shop completed their first repair on a Mercedes Benz for Van Winkle Motors. Founder, John Rattan, had a passion for business excellence and joined forces with a family member who had the expertise of a gifted craftsman.



1978 In just a few years The Body Shop moved to Garland and over the course of thirty-eight years has had a strong business presence there, as well as a devotion to community involvement in the Garland area. The current location is on Forest Lane.



2000 Going back to his birth place, John always had a desire to have a business in McKinney. He purchased and remodeled a former Chevrolet dealership, and The Body Shop Collision Repair opened in May. McKinney is currently the corporate headquarters, and the largest location where John still immerses himself in the community. He strives to deliver world class experience to his customers when they choose The Body Shop for their collision repair.



2014 The small town feel of Prosper, coupled with the progressive growth in this history-rich town made it a perfect choice for the third location of The Body Shop.



In 2015, The Body Shop Collision Repair was recognized by the Prosper Chamber of Commerce as “Best New Business of the Year”.



2016 Celebrating 40 years in business and currently employing 90 people, our highly skilled technicians and dedicated employees have made it possible for TBS to achieve the longevity and reputation as a preferred collision repair facility in the communities in which we serve.

The Body Shop Collision Repair guarantees all completed unibody repairs and workmanship for as long as you own your vehicle.


Any additional or previous repairs by any other repair facility, or any additional damage as a result of a separate or additional loss or collision, are excluded from this guarantee. Parts installed are warranted by their manufacturer.


Refinishing is guaranteed for as long as you own your vehicle. Excluded is damage caused from unreasonable use or care of the vehicle. The Body Shop guarantees a color match on refinishing work with the vehicle’s original finish with blending and/or tinting. Vehicles which have been previously refinished and older model cars which are faded and weathered will be evaluated on a case by case basis.


The extent of the total offer of this guarantee shall not exceed the total cost of the original repair order. This guarantee is valid for as long as you own the vehicle stated herein, and is for the person to whom this guarantee is granted and whose name appears herein and on the original work order.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


✓ DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN ESTIMATE? HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE? IS THERE A COST?

We welcome walk-ins so appointments are not necessary for an estimate. Estimates are free and take approximately 20 minutes depending on the extent of the damage. Different insurance companies have different processes so feel free to call us and we will walk you through it.

✓ DO I HAVE TO GET MULTIPLE COLLISION REPAIR ESTIMATES?

No. The decision is yours. Pick the shop you want to repair your vehicle and ask them to write the estimate. You will not need to get an additional one unless the insurance company paying for the repairs also wants to write an estimate.

✓ HOW CAN I GET A RENTAL CAR?

We have Enterprise rent-a-car on site. We will be happy to arrange this for you.

✓ CAN I GET OTHER SERVICE WORK DONE ON MY VEHICLE WHILE IT IS IN THE BODY SHOP?

Absolutely. Just let your advisor know what other work you would like done when you drop off so that he or she can make the necessary arrangements.

✓ HOW LONG WILL THE REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE TAKE?

We will give you a timeframe when you drop off your vehicle. However, damage is often hidden and cannot be discovered until your vehicle has been disassembled. If this happens, your vehicle’s completion date may need to be revised. We will keep you informed throughout the repair process, and we assure you we will return your vehicle to you as quickly as possible.

✓ CAN I GET A RIDE HOME WHEN I DROP OFF MY CAR?

Absolutely. We would be happy to provide this service to you. We want each customer's visit to be a positive experience and will work diligently towards that goal.

✓ IS THERE A WARRANTY ON THE REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE?

Yes. We guarantee all repairs with a Lifetime Warranty.

✓ WHEN IS MY DEDUCTIBLE DUE?

Your deductible will be paid to The Body Shop when your repairs are completed.

✓ WILL I HAVE TO PAY FOR TOWING?

The cost of towing, when necessary as the result of an accident, is usually covered as part of the loss. TBS will include this expense in the estimate that is submitted to the insurance company.

✓ WHAT IF DAMAGE IS FOUND DURING THE REPAIR THAT IS NOT ON THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE?

This is very common. TBS will contact the insurance company and obtain authorization to pay for all supplemental damages.

✓ WILL THE PARTS BE ORDERED BEFORE I DROP OFF MY VEHICLE?

Yes, we will generally order your vehicle’s parts before your scheduled drop off date. However, we may have to order additional parts for damage that becomes apparent after your car is disassembled.
